牛羊吃百草，草食量也非常大，草食家畜既优良、又经济的饲料作物。每个牧草其实也都有自己的优缺点，那么，之前我们有细谈过每个牧草的优点，今天就来细数下以下几种牧草的缺点，避免在饲喂过程中引起负面作用。

一、串叶松香草：

串叶松香草是一种高产多年生牧草品种，耐寒高温，抗逆性强，南北方都可以种植，营养价值也非常高。据测定，串叶松香草含有三萜类化合物，所以存在了一定的生物碱，这类毒素主要会损害猪的肝脏和肾脏，长期饲喂会造成积累性中毒。

因此，应将饲喂量控制在日粮的30%以内，最好同其它青饲料搭配使用，这样是非常安全的。

二、俄罗斯饲料菜：

俄罗斯饲料菜高产耐寒耐热，多年生牧草，南北方都可以种植。据测定，俄罗斯饲料菜是一种含有生物碱，这是一种危害肝脏的有毒物质，如果作为饲料饲喂过多，会在家畜体内产生积累性中毒，并危及人体肝脏。聚合草的饲喂量应控制在日粮的25%，也尽量要同其它牧草搭配和交叉饲喂。

注意：只要一头猪不要常年饲喂一种俄罗斯饲料菜，都是不会造成中毒现象的。

三、苏丹草：

苏丹草为高粱属植物，一年生禾本科作物，茎叶柔嫩多汁，耐高温、耐干旱，但不耐寒。茎叶中含有氢氰酸，其毒性较强，可致家畜死亡。如果是家畜饲喂中毒发病后应立即用亚硝酸钠1克、硫代硫酸钠2.5克、注射用水50毫升，混匀后静脉注射。

另外，高粱苗、玉米苗等也含有较多的氰甙，家畜采食后，氰甙也会转化为氢氰酸。因此，使用这类作物作饲料时，最好能将其调成青贮饲料、干草，或收割后进行晾晒一下，氢氰酸挥发之后再进行饲喂，降低其中的毒素含量，减弱其毒性，以免引起家畜中毒。
